Cornerstone College students have easy access to a number of bus services. The College collects data regarding the travel information of students to and from the College. Please contact the College if you have not yet advised of your child/ren's travel information.

SouthLink

Southlink is a member of the ATE group. SouthLink operates Metro Services in the Adelaide Hills, Outer South and Outer North of Adelaide. Students can purchase Metrocards or, individual trip tickets can be purchased with cash as students embark the bus. Department for Education and Child Development (DECD)

DECD Applications
Please note all applications that are submitted for the DECD services will be charged one non-refundable processing fee of $20 inclusive of GST. It is recommended that families ascertain eligibility prior to sending in their application to save unnecessary fee charges. This will be charged via your student’s Cornerstone College term fees. Please contact the College for the appropriate application form for the various DECD services.
Eligibility for DECD bus services will be determined based on the following: students who live within the Mt Barker area and whose residential location is more than five kilometres from their nearest government secondary school are eligible to use a DECD bus service. Students attending a non-government secondary school are also eligible to use a DECD bus service if they live more than five kilometres from the nearest government secondary school – that is their school of right: Mt Barker High School. Students must use the bus regularly to maintain eligibility to travel on the bus (ie. travel on the service more than 50% of the time). Eligibility (distance) can be checked by accessing www.whereis.com.au, click on directions, entering in your residential address as the start and Mt Barker High School as the destination. This will give you the distance between your home and Mt Barker High School.

Cornerstone Shuttle Bus
Please note that all the DECD buses (except the Nairne and the Hahndorf bus) require the students to use the Cornerstone College Shuttle Bus to and from the College and Mt Barker High School. This service requires Cornerstone College Shuttle passes to be purchased in advance from the Finance Office at the College. Multi-trips are $10.00 for ten trips.

This bus is a Lofty Coaches bus. This picks up Cornerstone College students at 3.20pm at the roundabout on the campus and goes to Mt Barker High School. In the morning it departs Mt Barker High School at 8.35am and travels to Cornerstone College. Pick up & set down in at Mt Barker High School is on Stephenson Rd at the rear entrance to MTBHS For more information on this service call Cornerstone College or Lofty Coaches.

Catastrophic Fire Day and Bus Services
DECD bus services will NOT operate on a Catastrophic Fire Day when announced by the CFS for the Mt Lofty Ranges District. Families will need to arrange alternative transport. The SouthLink and LinkSA Murray Bridge bus services, however, will run as per normal.
