Drama teacher, Kristen Doherty has been teaching theatre here at Cornerstone College for the past 16 years but did you know that she is also a published playwright and author of stage plays, screenplays and a TV series?

Two of Kristen’s plays are licenced with Australian Plays, with two more pending and there are fourteen productions of her shows currently in rehearsal in schools and theatre companies in Australia and around the world ― two in Adelaide, two in Queensland, one in Canberra, one in Melbourne, one in Sydney, two in America, two in Scotland and two in England as well as an upcoming one in Uganda. She is also using her latest play, The Curse of Macbeth with her very own Year 11 Drama class.

This has been an exciting time for Kristen who has just completed a season of directing a one-man-comedy Adelaide Fringe show called The Book of Faz which had sold-out shows and received a 5-star review.

Kristen is thrilled that she is gaining ample industry experience which is she is able to directly transfer to her classes and enables her to help students with their own connections and pathways into the theatre and film industry.
