It is with great excitement, gratitude and a deep sense of privilege that I join the Cornerstone community as Principal. Returning to the Adelaide Hills, where my teaching career first began, feels like a wonderful homecoming, and I am honoured to lead the College into its next chapter.
Throughout my career in Lutheran education, which spans more than 26 years, I have been inspired by the transformative power of learning, faith and community. Since beginning at Cornerstone, I have already experienced the warmth, kindness and genuine sense of belonging that make this College so special. The welcome extended to me by students, staff and families has been truly heartening, and in a very short time I have come to feel that Cornerstone is my new school home.
At Cornerstone College, we are blessed with a strong foundation and an exciting future. I believe we are entering a period filled with opportunity, and I am confident the College will continue to thrive as we embrace new possibilities with vision, courage and enthusiasm. In the months and years ahead, we will seek to create even more innovative and enriching opportunities for young people and their families, while remaining grounded in the values and faith that define our community.
My approach to leadership is centred on relationships. I am at my best when working alongside others, listening, learning and building trust through collaboration. I look forward to connecting with students, staff, families, alumni and the wider community as together we continue to shape a vibrant and flourishing College culture.
Before joining Cornerstone, I served as Principal of Encounter Lutheran College for 14 years and have held leadership and teaching roles within Lutheran education since 1998. I am passionate about fostering compassionate, thriving learning communities where every young person is known, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Alongside my educational experience, I hold a Master of Business Administration and have undertaken doctoral studies focused on hopeful leadership.
Outside of school, I am married to my wife, Skye, and together we have three teenage children. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors, and I particularly love trail running, overnight hikes and sharing time with family and friends.
I am grateful to the College Board for the trust they have placed in me and give thanks to God for the privilege of leading Cornerstone College. I look forward to working alongside you as we build on the College's proud heritage and embrace the exciting opportunities ahead.
