We are currently seeking expressions of interest for vacancies on the Cornerstone College Board. This is a two-year appointment with the potential for renewal and an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of a leading South Australian College.
About Cornerstone College
Set in the heart of the beautiful Adelaide Hills, Cornerstone College is a Lutheran co-educational school for students in Years 7–12. For more than 30 years, we've provided exceptional education in an environment that values academic achievement, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth. Grounded in Christian values, we prepare young people to become thoughtful, compassionate leaders with purpose. Our mission is to help every student flourish, discover their calling, and use their unique gifts to make a difference in the world.
About the Board
The Cornerstone College Board is a skills-based governing body responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of the College.
It works through key subcommittees in:
Finance Risk & Audit
Ministry
Board members serve the College’s mission and ministry to the Mount Barker community on behalf of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand, through Lutheran Education Australia.
Commitment
Attend Board orientation and ongoing training when provided
10 Board meetings per year
Up to 8 subcommittee meetings annually
Participation in annual strategic planning days
In-person attendance is preferred; some meetings may be held online
Ideal Candidate Profile
We welcome expressions of interest from all interest parties while being particularly interested in individuals with:
Professional experience in:
Law
Theology or Ministry
Economics, Commerce, or Business
Financial Services
Marketing or Social Media
Leadership experience in:
CEO or senior executive roles
People management and leading organisational change
Commitment to Christian Faith through membership of a Lutheran or other Christian Church
Desirable qualifications:
Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Course
Current AICD membership
Requirements
Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
Ability to provide referees who can speak to your application for Board membership and capacity to support the Christian ethos of the College.
Complies with eligibility as prescribed in Section 201B of the Corporations Act 2001
Be an individual, not a body corporate
Be at least 18 years of age
Not be disqualified from managing corporations under Part 2D.6.
