Four students attended the GO Foundation Lunch at Bird in Hand Winery on Friday, 17 March 2023

Four students attended the GO Foundation Lunch held at Bird in Hand Winery on Friday, March 17, 2023. The students had the opportunity to showcase their artwork, which was auctioned off during the event to raise funds for the GO Foundation. The auction of their artwork helped to raise $2,000 for the foundation, which was part of the total of $80,000 raised overall.

The GO Foundation is an Australian organization that supports the education of Indigenous children and youth. The foundation aims to empower Indigenous Australians to achieve their dreams and fulfill their potential through education. The organization was founded by former AFL players Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin, who are both Indigenous Australians themselves.

The event was a great opportunity for the four students to meet and connect with Adam Goodes, Michael O’Loughlin, and other Indigenous Australians who were present at the event. Witnessing the students being empowered by these role models was a special moment for everyone in attendance.

The students were excellent ambassadors for our college, and we thank Andrew Nugent, the owner of Bird in Hand Winery, for inviting the College to participate in the event.

The event was a great success, not just in terms of the funds raised but also in terms of the impact it had on the students who attended. It was a valuable opportunity for them to connect with Indigenous Australians who are making a difference in their communities and to contribute to an important cause.

The GO Foundation continues to make a significant impact on the lives of Indigenous children and youth across Australia. The organization's efforts to support education are crucial in closing the education gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. The success of the event at Bird in Hand Winery is a testament to the importance of the GO Foundation's work and the support it receives from the wider community.
