Tim Vanderbom | Christian Living LA Leader & Rite Journey teacher
Monday, 22 February was the ceremonial start of our Year 9s passage through The Rite Journey (TRJ) which is a year long introduction to what happens next in life.
We walked to the summit of Mount Barker, where they were ‘Called’ to begin on this journey. We acknowledged those who have come before us, those significant to us right now, and made a call for us to be thankful and appreciative of these people.
Once back at the College, each Journey class spent time together, challenging, eating, thinking and grappling with what’s important to us.
In the evening, parents joined students for their own introduction to the TRG course with one of its co-creators, Andrew Lines. To round out the day, parents/caregivers, students and teachers gathered to mark the start of the year’s time together.
We hope that each family found value in the time together. Thank you to all the staff involved and thank you to families for coming along and marking this important occasion.
We wish you all well and look forward to continuing our adventures together.
A reminder about other significant events during the year being camp (23-27 August) and the ‘Return’ ceremony parent/caregiver evening on Monday, 29 November.
